Inventing an instrument

 

This awful drawing is my Guitar-Violin.

First I started developing my instrument by trying to replicate Mr Mitchell’s guitar which took me a lot of

attempts and then I got a good one. After that i did the bow of a violin alongside the guitar and that was my

What instrument family does it belong to: it belongs to the string family

Write description of the instrument: It is veru unique and looks really nice. It creates a unique sound, a type of sound that was never heard

before.

What material is it made of: It can only be made out of wood.

How do you play it?: you hold a guitar like how it’s regularly clenched on and then play

it with the bow. 

What type of sound does it make: a really tremendously terrifically squeaky sound.

What type of music is it used for?: it’s used for baby music.

The Ukulele CtB

 This week in counting the beat we have been learning about ukuleles and recorders. Something I learnt about ukuleles is that it has different types and sizes.

A thing I learnt about recorders is that they have different sizes, and how to use them.

There were lots of ukuleles I saw this week. Some ukuleles I saw were the electric ukulele,the baritone,concert,tenor and the banjolele.

There were also lots of different types of recorders I saw too. The ones I saw were tenor,comfort,bass and great bass.

Here are 3 parts of a ukulele.

1. The frets: The frets are the strings that lay across the fretboard. The frets are what you used to create sound when you press down on the strings to cause a type of sound.  You can change the sound by using something called a tuner which I'll explain on the 3rd one.

2. Sonudhole: A soundhole is what’s used to echo the sound inside the body. The soundhole is located on top of the bridge. 

3. The tuner: The tuner is at the top of the ukulele. The tuner is used for changing the pitch from the sound of the strings. To do this what you need to do is rotate it then the pitch will change.#

 

The Violin CtB

 What I've learnt in counting the beat.

This week in counting the beat, I've learnt about the violins. In counting the beat I've learnt about the parts of the violin, the sizes of the violin and types of violins.

Different types of violins.

First let's talk about the sizes from smallest to the biggest. In the beginning there is the violin, the normal size. Next we have the Viola, the Vello then the double bass.

Now here’s something I learnt is that there can be electric violins which is cool. 

Did I like the Vivaldi concertos?

I didn’t really like the vivaldi concertos because I’ve seen better.

3 parts of the violins.

-The strings: The strings are what creates sound from the violin which is caused by using the bow or even just using your fingers.If you want to change the tune you can use the tuner which i'll explain in the next part. The strings of the violin are either made of catgut yes catgut or can also be made of nylon or steel.

-The tuner: The tuner is a part of the violin which is for when rotated, the violin will have a different pitch. 

-the scroll: the scroll is what is used for showcasing the skillfulness of the maker.

Something I would like to learn about in counting the beat is how to play instruments.

Something I know about guitars is that they have strings,

They make sounds,

They’re an instrument,

And they have different types of them.

Something I think about guitars is that they are used alot in lots of music stuff.

 What are we doing in counting the beat?

In counting the beat, we are learning about music.

This guitar is called an acoustic guitar. The acoustic guitar is an awesome instrument. It has a hole in the middle of it because when a string is played, the sound echoes inside it causing a louder sound to happen. Another thing about the acoustic guitar is that it has something called a tuner. A tuner is an attachment on the top of the guitar that causes the strings to vibrate more so you can hear the sounds to make it sound better. An acoustic guitar also has something called a capo. A capo is also an attachment. The is put on the neck of the guitar so that the length of the strings a shorten which causes a higher pitch.

What is percussion music?: Percussion music is music that comes from instruments that manufactures sound when striked, sweeped.

What is body percussion?: body percussion is when you use your body as a percussion instrument using sounds such as armpit farts, banging your body and all several types.

This is an example of body percussions 

What did i use in my body percussion?: I used a film canister filled with a tiny amount of beans and shake it to cause a glamour sound. The song my group used was: Vento Doro/Giorno theme
